Meet Amy

Throughout the years I have had the privilege and honor of working with the most fabulous women entrepreneurs. It didn’t make sense for me to keep them all to myself so I am excited to launch a new blog series called, “I’d like you to meet…”

I’m excited to introduce you to an amazing female entrepreneur that is pursuing her passion as a FT, PT or side gig business owner. She may even be able to offer you a product or service you need or can offer up some sound advice to help you grow your business.

Without further ado, I would like you to meet Amy…

I’ve known Amy for a few years as we are both Stella & Dot OGs. Our paths crossed mostly in Facebook groups and here and there at different S&D local and national events. It wasn’t until recently when Amy signed up to be one of my first Branding on a Budget clients that I was able to get to know her and her amazing brand more in depth.

How long have you been doing your business?

Almost 7 years — I joined S&D in October 2014 (!)  

Tell us a little about you and your background?

A former tomboy who now loves all things girly, feminine and sparkly! I had ZERO sales or fashion background before becoming a stylist (now ambassador) with S&D and have always had a love of sharing and passion for people … so it kinda seemed like a perfect fit. And now the rest is history!  

What prompted you to start your business?

I fell in love with the product that was out of my price range so I enrolled for the discount … and stayed for just about everything else: community, connection, flexibility, financial freedom (and the discount doesn’t hurt). My customer group on FB was named Authentically Styled a few years into my business and I’ve grown that to kinda become part of my identity —  I love sharing things I love (style, wine, mom stuff, etc) in a way that is authentic to ME.   

Who is your target client?

I always say EVERYONE but I know that’s not realistic. My goal is to spread joy through style, with a side of humor and a glass of wine … so anyone who needs more of that in their lives, they’re my people! I’m here to help people, of all ages/races/genders/etc find the perfect piece (or pieces!) that make them feel beautiful, confident and ready to take on the world — whether that’s a pair of Sparkle Studs to wear with a baseball hat and athleisure on the go or the perfect statement necklace to pull an outfit together for a big business meeting … I got you, boo.  

What does your typical morning look like?

Oh, I love mornings! I wake up everyday (M-F) at 5am to workout and then squeeze in a little work before my tiny human wakes up (ideally at 7am but recently it’s been earlier … OY!). Then he and I eat breakfast together, go for a walk to the playground and then continue on with our day. I know our days of this morning togetherness is coming to an end, as he starts Pre-K in a few weeks, so I am soaking up every last second.  

What is one piece of advice you’d give to other small business owners/early entrepreneurs?

DO NOT OVERTHINK IT! Trust your gut, and go for it … but remember to always be true to yourself. Embrace the weird (or whatever it is that makes you special), and leverage that to really make you stand out in a crowd. 


A Little More about Amy’s Visual Branding

When I asked Amy to describe what makes her BRAND unique, with confidence she replied, “ME!”

Amy describes herself as energetic and passionate. She carries that through into everything she does and will go the extra mile to make her clients feel comfortable, confident and excited about their shopping experience. It’s her mission to spread joy through style, and leave her clients feeling confident.

With all that in mind, we wanted to keep Amy’s branding classic, feminine and fun. Her Pinterest Mood Board (which is part of the visual branding process) included gorgeous textures like floral and lace and it was clear she loved all shades of blue, white and soft blush. But we knew with Amy’s energetic and passionate side that we needed a POP COLOR!
