Why I Switched My Brand Quiz to Interact (And You Should Build One Too)

I had a brand style quiz live on my website for years. People loved taking it. They'd land on a result, get a little dopamine hit of "yes, that's so me," and opt in for the full guide.

The problem was everything happening behind the scenes.

The platform I originally built it on wasn't designed to talk to Flodesk, my email platform of choice. So I rigged up a workaround with Zapier and a tangle of conditional logic to get quiz results connected to the right email sequence. It worked. Mostly. But if you'd asked me to rebuild that exact setup from scratch, I genuinely couldn't have told you how I did it the first time.

I always wished I'd built it on Interact instead.

So I finally moved it. And now that my Brand Style Quiz lives on Interact, I'm kicking myself for not making the switch years ago.

Why Quizzes Are One of the Best Lead Magnets You Can Build

If you're a service provider and you don't have a quiz as part of your marketing yet, here's my case for why you should.

Most lead magnets are one-sided. You make an assumption about what your audience wants, you build a PDF or a checklist around it, and you hope it lands. A quiz flips that. It asks your audience questions, gathers real information about what they actually need, and then delivers something personalized back to them.

That personalization is what makes quizzes so effective. People don't just download a quiz result. They engage with it. They share it. They remember it. And on your end, you walk away with genuinely useful information about who's on your list and what they're looking for.

For service providers especially, a quiz is also one of the easiest ways to let your brand voice show up somewhere besides your website and your captions. The questions, the answer options, the result descriptions — all of it can sound exactly like you.

Why I Chose Interact

I've helped build several quizzes on Interact, both for my own business and for clients, and the platform has made every single one easier than the last.

It's genuinely easy to use. You don't need to be technical to build something that looks polished. Whether you start from a template or build from scratch, the platform walks you through it in a way that doesn't feel overwhelming.

The Flodesk integration actually works. This is the big one for me. After years of patching together a workaround with Zapier, having a quiz platform that connects directly and cleanly to Flodesk has been a relief. When someone finishes a quiz, their results and their email go exactly where they need to go, automatically. No conditional logic I have to reverse-engineer six months later. And if Flodesk isn't your email platform, Interact integrates with most major ones out there, so chances are good yours is already connected too.

You can fully brand it. Colors, fonts, imagery — your quiz can look like it belongs on your website instead of feeling like a third-party tool bolted on. That matters to me. I'm not going to recommend a tool to clients that makes their brand feel disjointed the second someone clicks into a quiz.

You can take it even further with custom result pages. Instead of a quiz-taker landing on a generic results screen, you can connect each result to its own fully designed page hosted on your website. I've built these for clients, and the difference is real. A custom result page feels like part of the experience instead of an afterthought. It's on my own list for this summer. I was so excited to get my quiz and result delivery up and running that I haven't gone back to build out custom pages for myself yet, but it's exactly the kind of detail I plan to add to make the experience feel even more personalized.

How I've Used Quizzes for Clients

This isn't just a tool I use for my own business. I've built quizzes for clients across a few different industries, and the results speak to how flexible the platform really is.

A boutique owner used a quiz to help her customers find their personal style, turning quiz-takers into shoppers who already felt like the recommendations were made just for them.

A business coach used a quiz to help her audience identify their personal brand style, which made for a natural lead-in to her coaching offers.

A med spa used a quiz to guide clients toward their ideal wellness pathway, helping people self-select into the right service before they ever booked a consultation.

Three completely different industries, three completely different goals, and the same platform handled all of it. That flexibility is part of why I keep coming back to Interact for client work.

How to Get Started With Interact

If you're ready to build your own quiz, the process is more straightforward than you'd think.

You'll start with a free trial, which gives you full access to explore templates or build entirely from scratch. From there:

  • Choose your starting point. Browse templates by industry or start with a blank canvas if you already know exactly what you want.

  • Brand it. Update your colors, fonts, and imagery so it feels like a natural extension of your website, not a separate tool.

  • Write your questions and answers. This is where your voice gets to come through. Whether you're using a template or writing from scratch, make the copy sound like you.

  • Set your result logic. Map out which answers lead to which results, so each quiz-taker lands on something that actually fits their responses.

  • Decide what you're delivering. A free guide, a discount code, a personalized recommendation — whatever makes sense for your business and your offer.

  • Connect your integrations. If you're using Flodesk or another email platform, this is where you set up the connection so results and contacts flow where they need to go.

  • Turn on social sharing. Quizzes get a lot of their reach from people sharing their results, so don't skip this step.

Once it's built, you publish, and the quiz starts working for you in the background. Checkout my Brand Style Quiz by clicking HERE.
